We started our design work by reviewing a sampling of the previously-produced programs from the league. Most, we found, were lacking in both helpful details and engaging and eye-pleasing design principles. We outlined the helpful and important pieces of information from the perspectives of the meet participants and attendees. Once we knew what kinds of information/topics the program should include, we created layouts to logically organize them.
While we developed some of the content, most of it was provided by other parties. We ended up coordinating with multiple individuals and groups to collect, ingest and reformat the information to keep a consistent look and feel.
Finally, we coordinated with Heritage Printers, a local print production facility, to produce the booklet. We collaborated to determine the right cover and interior stock (paper) and squared away all of the required production details and timing. The final product was a professional 32-page printed, bound and trimmed program booklet.
